Care and Maintenance Tips

1. Normal wear and tear:

Pulling grips are an affordable way to install conduit, cable, and pipe. Grips will wear out ! Because of the nature of the work environment pulling grips are used in, regular prudent grip replacement coupled with pre-use inspection is a must. Always replace grips when the grip in question has frayed or broken wires.

2. Corrosion from outside sources:

Always store pulling grips and any other type of Lewis Equipment in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Proper storage of grips will help ensure that the mesh is not exposed to caustic chemicals or the like. Replace grips if the grip in question has broken or frayed wires.

3. Exposure to heat source:

Heating up certain types of metals may reduce tensile strengths, and cause flexibility problems. Store grips away from any type of engine or exhaust system. electrical engine etc. These surfaces can become extremely hot, and possibly damage the grip. If your grips appears scorched or melted, discard immediately, and or return to the factory for evaluation.

4. Visual Inspection:

Damage can be caused by many things. Always make a complete visual inspection of the entire grip before and after each use.
