Are
Your Bands Safe? |
|
|
|
Do you really believe your brake bands are safe?
You will when LEWIS FRICTION CERTIFIES
that they are.
First we will sandblast them, then Magnaflux them and finally finish
them by painting to the color of your choice. We will provide you
with test certificates that confirm their safety.
When there is a problem with your bands such as cracked metal or
other unsafe defects, we will inform you before proceeding any
further.
Upon completion of the refurbishing, You can use our Brake Band Exchange
Program or we will notify you immediately
so the bands can be picked up at our new convenient loading dock or
they can be delivered per your request.

Brake
Band Maintenance Tip |
|
|
|
|
Probably the
largest contributor to wear on brake linings, other than normal
usage, is bent, flattened or twisted brake bands.
Bands are damaged
in removing for relining by jerking them out of the drawworks with a
catline. They should be handled very carefully in order to avoid
distortion. When a band is distorted from its proper shape, it not
only promotes rapid wear but causes the brake lever to “kick” when
released. |
